Weather didn't put a damper on festivities at the Carstairs Beef n' Barley Days that took place on July 15-17.

Many adults and children turned out for the event, which offered up activities for all age groups.

"Of course the weather interfered with some of the people we normally get, it wasn't quite as full. But I think overall, the rodeo and baseball, everybody really enjoyed it, after the scare of rain," said Carstairs Mayor Lance Colby.

Starting festivities off with a breakfast on Saturday, the day consisted of face painting, live entertainment, a rodeo, a softball tournament, laser tag, and tons more.

"I enjoy the parade because you get to see all the kids and it gives you a good realization how much the demographics have changed in Carstairs when you see all the little ones running around," said Mayor Colby.

Carstairs Beef n' Barley Days has been part of Carstairs history for decades.

"It's been going on for a long time. They had a different name for it awhile ago and then I know in '79, in that area, they changed the name to Beef n' Barley Days."
