Runners from all walks of life took part in this year's annual Airdrie Mayor's Run at Genesis Place on Sunday, June 5.

Some of the events included a 10km run, 5km run, a 3km run, and a 1km run.

The Mayor's Run raised money for a number of causes including Pulmonary Fibrosis, Special Olympics Airdrie, Airdrie Aces Athletics, and Free For All Friday's at Genesis Place.

Despite the surprising heat, runners were primed and ready for the run.

For those who wanted to donate towards Pulmonary Fibrosis, they simply needed to run or walk around East Lake after making a pledge.

Awards for all ages and categories were given out to the runners in the sanctioned events.
