Firefighters continue to battle a blaze that started late this afternoon (October 17th) in Sharp Hill.

As of 6:00pm, RCMP confirmed that no evacuations have been given for houses in Kings Heights or Ravenswood.

The evacuation orders are still in place for Sharp Hill, as residents check in at Genesis Place.

Those who have registered at Genesis Place will be notified when they can return. Right now there's no timeline to when the evacuation notice will be lifted.

The rain that's fallen in Airdrie has helped with firefighting efforts, and crews hope to contain the fire soon.

Meanwhile, several business and community members have reached out to those displaced by the fires.

Dog Care services such as Dog E Daycare, and Four on the Floor have offered free board for pets and Save on Foods in Kings Heights is providing Pizzas for evacuees until closing at 11pm.

Many have reached out on Social Media, offering their houses to those evacuated.

Can-Ex Pest Control says they will use their account at the Super 8 in Airdrie to house up to 10 families who need a room
