The Calgary Police Service has released CCTV images from Sunday night and are looking to speak with a family who was seen speaking with the young girl who went missing earlier this week.

The images show a family speaking to Taliyah Leigh Marsman and her mother at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday night at a Dairy Queen at 66 Sandarac Drive in Northwest Calgary.

Witnesses have also told police about seeing a girl Monday morning matching the description of Taliyah with a stocky, black male, in the area where her mother's vehicle was located. She was wearing pink boots with white polka dots and was carrying a reddish-coloured suitcase.

Police issued an Amber Alert for Taliyah early Tuesday morning and Inspector Don Coleman says the Amber Alert is provincial in nature.

"There is nothing to suggest that Taliyah is outside of Calgary, but we are not ruling out any possibilities," he says.

Her mother, Sara Baillie, was found dead in their basement apartment in the community of Panorama Hills in North West Calgary on Monday evening.

Her uncle Scott Hamilton is begging those responsible for taking her to drop her off somewhere safe and unharmed.

"Please return her. Drop her off at an RCMP station, a Calgary Police Service station or grocery store or gas station. Wherever you want."

He says his niece had been raising Taliyah on her own and the two were "inseparable".

Coleman says they've conducted interviews with all of Marsman's family and friends.

"Initially we look at everybody to family members on out. So we've looked at and spoken to several family members and work our way through the investigation from there."

So far police aren't naming any suspects or persons of interest, but they do say Taliyah's estranged father is co-operating in the investigation.

Taliyah is described as being a mixed race with brown curly hair and blue eyes.
