The annual city-wide food drive will be taking place within the next week and it is going to be the biggest Airdrie has ever seen.

With the help of members of the church, community volunteers, and the Airdrie Food Bank staff, the goal is to hit 22,000 homes.

Bags will be dropped off at homes between Tuesday, September 13, and Thursday, September 15, and will be picked up the following Saturday between 10:00a.m. and 1:00p.m.

Quinn Donaldson, General Manager of the Airdrie Food Bank, said the food drive is much needed to prepare for the busy fall months.

Cash donations will not be accepted in the city-wide food drive, only non-perishable food items.

A full list of needed items can be found on the Airdrie Food Bank website.

Volunteers will only be coming to your door to collect the bags; they will not be ringing the doorbell or soliciting donations.
