Alberta based company The Grocery Link is expanding their operation.

Currently operating in Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, and Calgary, they will bring their services to Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Lethbridge and Edmonton by September.

"We believe that everyone has a right to independent living no matter their age, their income level, or whether or not they have a care giver in the area," said Kevin Hutlet, President and founder of The Grocery Link. "We're just trying to help as many people as we can, and it's a very humbling experience when you get the opportunity to do so."

The Grocery Link was started in January 2016 and offers grocery shopping services for those with disabilities, age restrictions, and hectic schedules.

Rather than mark up their prices, The Grocery Link has committed to providing an affordable alternative by working alongside retailers.

"We started out this company with a strict policy that we do not markup grocery products," said Hutlet. "We are trying to work in cooperation with retailers to be able to get their products to people who cannot access them online or in store."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help provide services for more Canadians across the country.
