December is over and the numbers are in for Teams Red and Blue of the Sirens Lip Sync Challenge, and Team Blue collected more food for the Airdrie Food Bank.

Corporal Gina Slaney of the RCMP and Team Blue says she was excited to see the numbers.

"We did get double of what Team Red collected, that's correct, and it feels fantastic. We worked very hard this month to come out on top but not just to win the challenge but also to give back to our community."

You heard right, Team Blue collected double what Team Red collected. Losing in November seemed to set a fire underneath Team Blue and Slaney says they gave it their best in December.

"December was fantastic. In December the challenge was to see which team could collect the most weight in food donations for the Airdrie food bank. The totals came in today and I'm so excited to say that Team Blue came out on top of this one. We donated 7493 pounds of food. Team Red donated 3177 pounds, which give a grand total of 10,670 pounds of food."

With the win, the two teams are tied and Slaney says it will all come down to this month.

"We are tied. Team Red won the toy drive in November, by a very slight margin might I add. We won December, so now it all falls upon what happens in January."

In January, both teams will attempt to collect as much blood donations as possible during the month of January by allowing citizens to use codes whenever they donate blood anywhere in Canada. Slaney encourages the citizens of Airdrie to use Team Blue's code.

"This month, we are asking everyone to give the "Gift of Life". You can donate blood anywhere in Canada this month. If you wish to donate blood, please use the code for Team Blue. The code for Team Blue AIRD907013. You can go to a blood bank anywhere in Canada during the month of January and donate blood using this code."
