If you are looking for a way to dispose of all your Halloween treats you may want to consider gifting them to the 'Switch Witch'.

The Switch Witch provides an opportunity for your trick-or-treater to trade out their candy for a gift, or even better, an opportunity to help others.

Carrie-Lynn Saville, Creator/President of NICU Family Care says this is the second year where they take traded Halloween candy and give back to families supported by NICU's.

"Part of our program is at Christmas we work all year long to fill bags with gifts and essentials for the families and we anonymously drop them off, then we also fill the parents lounge with food and bake for the nurses. So these treats will be sorted between all the NICU's."

With so many donations coming in, Saville is also hopeful to help out another local non profit 'Happy Birthday Project' which creates loot bags for kids who celebrate their birthdays in shelters.

Drop off locations are available across Calgary, Airdrie, and Cochrane; Saville says best way to find pick up locations is at their Facebook page, NICU Family Care.

Saville anticipates they will be able to recycle more than 15 garbage bags full of Halloween treats and create smiles along the way.

"Our thinking is there is so many people in the community that want to help others but may not have the time or the money, so this is a simple and affordable way for them to give back."
