Over the weekend a man was stabbed at the Dickson Stevenson Rest Stop and RCMP now have an update on the investigation.

On Sunday, July 8th Airdrie RCMP originally received a report of shots fired at the Dickson Stevenson Rest Stop north of Airdrie.

When police arrived they found a man suffering from stab wounds.

Calgary HAWCS Helicopter, as well as the Calgary Police Dog Services, were called to assist in the matter.

The suspect was able to get away prior to RCMP arrival in a 2009 black Buick Enclave which was found later Sunday night in Edmonton.

The suspect is still at large.

The victim of the stabbing is continuing to recover from his injuries.
