At yesterday's City Council Meeting (March 5th), Councillors were presented with the results of the recent Citizen Satisfaction Survey.

Bannister Research, who once again carried out the survey, says the results were primarily positive.

According to the survey, 95% of those who responded rate Airdrie's Quality of Life as high, a 4% increase from 2017.

The quality of services in the city also saw an increase over the last two years, with 83% giving it a high rating.

When it came to the needs of the City, Infrastructure, including road projects and traffic issues was once again ranked number one followed by Health Care and Rapid Growth Management.

One of the new items on the survey this year was the City's recycling programs as curbside recycling was introduced last spring. 88% gave the recycling program a thumbs up while organics once again rated high at 80%.

The stat which received the highest level of response came to safety within the city. According to the survey, 99% of respondents said they felt safe during the day, with 81% feeling safe during the night.

There was, however, a few items of improvement noted from the survey results. 38% felt that the city's pace of development is moving too fast. One of the services that scored low on the survey was Airdrie Transit which only saw a 32% approval rating.

Tracy With of Bannister Research, who gave the presentation, says Airdrie's high numbers are something she rarely sees in other municipalities and whatever the City is doing, they're doing it well.

The survey was conducted late last year, about around 400 responses were gathered by phone and online.
