It's basically summer, and that means one thing: Road construction.

Mayor Peter Brown says there is a number of projects planned this summer. In particular, you should see some noticeable additions.

"Traffic signals are going up in a number of areas. I won't be specific, but there's a number of areas that they'll be going up throughout the summer, so you'll see a lot of activity as it relates to traffic signals."

The City currently has two major projects underway as well. The twinning of Yankee Valley Boulevard should be complete by the end of August, while the completion of 40th Avenue is expected in the fall.

Mayor Brown also wants everyone to remember to stay safe on the roads, especially around construction sites.

"Keep your eyes open and make sure to slow down when you're going through those areas."

The City publishes all road work and road closures on its website.
