The month of November is already bringing snowfall and bone chilling temperatures to Airdrie, and it's only just begun.

Some light snow fell in the city this morning (November 1) and the forecast is calling for more heading into the weekend.

"Starting tonight and continuing into Friday, we're looking for sort of an extended period of light snow," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Brian Proctor. "We're not looking for any huge significant accumulation or fast accumulating snow fall."

When it comes to how much snow could fall over the next few days, Proctor anticipates it could be as much as 15 centimeters by Friday afternoon.

But what about the temperatures and the lovely winter greeting known as windchills?

"We'll probably see windchills from the minus 10 to minus 15 range through the day Thursday," said Proctor. "After that the cold air sort of settles in and we get those daytime highs of minus 9 to minus 10, overnight lows at minus 12 to minus 16 kind of range into Saturday."

According to the seven day forecast from Environment Canada, the snow is expected to stop by Sunday night, with sunshine returning on Monday, but high temperatures will still be below freezing.
