A bunch of first responders in Airdrie are proving they're willing to do almost anything to help out good causes in the city.

Airdrie Municipal Enforcement has teamed up with the Airdrie RCMP to challenge the Airdrie Fire Department and Alberta Health Services to a "friendly" competition dubbed the Sirens Lip Sync Showdown: Battle for Airdrie.

Over the next three months the teams will challenge each other to support great causes in Airdrie.  The winner of the challenge then gets to choose a song for the loser (and we use that term lovingly) to lip sync to in a music video.

Today (November 10) all teams are at the Wal-Mart in Airdrie conducting a Toy Drive to help the Airdrie Lioness Club with their 2018 Christmas Hamper campaign.  You can donate toys and have your picture taken with Sparky the Fire Dog, or one of the first responders who isn't wearing a mascot suit.

Next Saturday the Lioness Club will hold a food drive at grocery stores across Airdrie.  Last year, the club provided 367 hampers to Airdrie families who need a hand up.  This year the club is hoping to do even better with the ever-increasing need in the city.
