It helps pay for your Dental work, Eye Care and Chiropractors, but what would you do if those benefits were taxed.

Many health specialists say they're worried about a proposed Federal Tax on extended Health Benefits which you receive from your employer.

Dr. Jaqueline Boyd of Access Chiropractic and Wellness learned about the possible tax through several Medical offices who started a web campaign called Don't Tax My Health Benefits, arguing that a similar motion in Quebec didn't work.

"It resulted in about 20% of employers dropping health care benefits," says Boyd, "because they couldn't afford to offer them anymore because of the taxes they had to pay."

At the end, many of these specialists including Boyd say a tax on benefits won't help in the long run.

"The money that they're going to generate is a short term gain, for long term pain, because they're going to revenues right off the bat but they're going to end up paying for it later down the road when they have people accessing the public funded system instead of being able to prevent these problems earlier on."
