Just hours after the first incident occurred on Highway 9 that claimed the lives of two individuals, another collision claimed two more lives on Tuesday, August 30, resulting in a highway closure.

According to Beiseker RCMP, crews were called out to a three vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 9 at Range Road 264.

Upon arrival, RCMP found a car heading South had collided head on with a van heading North.

Two occupants inside the car were declared deceased on scene, while the driver of the van was transported to hospital and his passenger treated and released on scene.

A tractor trailer unit was also involved in the collision, although the driver sustained minimal injury.

RCMP continue to investigate the factors leading to the cause of the collision.
