The new workouts for his physio include boxing, rope training and chin ups.

Ryan is also learning how to pull himself into a standing position from his wheelchair by just using his arms.

Ryans Dad Tom Strazchnitzki says the workout seems really intense.

"They really work the patients here for sure to try and get feelings back, its a pretty intense work out that's for sure."

Tom also says that Ryan is starting to feel his core again.

"Ryan is really feeling the workouts and he's starting to feel a bit in is core so they are really working that right now."

Ryan also got to the ice for the first time in months after taking part in a sledge hockey drill in Calgary last week.
