Rocky View Schools superintendent Greg Luterbach started his new job on Monday, August 22nd.

Luterbach has taken over for the retired Don Hoium, and brings his wealth of experience from school divisions across the country.

"Rocky View Schools have a fantastic reputation across multiple provinces, and so when the opportunity came forward, I had a look at it and was honoured and excited." said Luterbach.

Having started his career as a teacher in Saskatchewan, Luterbach eventually worked for RVS from 2000-2003.

Most recently, he served as superintendent of British Columbia's School District No. 20, Kootney-Columbia, and has a lot of experience in the public, K-12 education sector.

When it comes to the rapid growth of RVS, Luterbach welcomes the challenge.

"Coming from British Columbia where across the entire province the student population is declining, having to open schools and those challenges, in my humble opinion are way better than having to close schools."
