Approximately 450 Rocky View Schools (RVS) students are heading to Calgary for WE Day on Wednesday, October 26th.

Thousands of Southern Alberta youth will meet at the Saddledome where speakers and performers will inspire them to make a difference in the world.

"It's important because it's about the message that's beneath it, it's about contributing locally and globally to make a difference for people." said Greg Luterbach, Superintendant, RVS.

Starting in Toronto back in 2007, the event is now held in Calgary, Vancouver, Manitoba, and Atlantic Canada as well. Events are also held in the U.S. and the U.K..

Students will enjoy speakers such as Chris Hatfield, Paula Abdul, Rick Hanson and more. There will also be performances from Brett Kissel, Classified, Tyler Shaw and more.

"Both staff that attend, students that attend, and trustees that attend, come back really motivated and looking at how they can contribute both locally and globally." said Luterbach.
