Municipal elections are drawing closer, and this morning (April 13), the Rocky View School Board passed a bylaw that would require anyone running for the office of Trustee to disclose their campaign contributions and expenses.

Under Bylaw 2017-3, all candidates would have to keep records and disclose any campaign contributions they receive, and all campaign expenses, before the last business day in December.

The bylaw is similar to other requirements placed on candidates running in elections for Airdrie, Chestermere, Cochrane, and the Calgary Catholic School District.

The bylaw passed through three readings this morning. It was carried unanimously each time.
