It's a case of the domino effect in the appointments of Rocky View School's three new principals.

David Smith, Tammy Rahn and Scott Woodward will all be taking new posts this fall.

The appointment of one, led to an opening at his old school, which was filled by another, which led to an opening at her old school and.....

You get the drift.

RVS Superintendent of Schools Greg Luterbach announced the appointments for the 2017 / 18 school year yesterday (June 14).

Smith becomes the new Principal at C.W. Perry School in Airdrie.  Smith has been with the jurisdiction since 1999 when he joined Muriel Clayton School as an Alberta School Improvement Initiative Co-Lead and fine arts teacher.  He moved on to teach Grade 9 - 12 at George McDougall, then joined the ranks of RVS administrators as Assistant Principal of Ecole Airdrie Middle School.  He is currently the Principal at Langdon School.

"David is a perfect fit for the C.W. Perry School community," said Luterbach. "Outside of his ability to build trust while bringing focus to new teaching practices, he possesses the ability to forge strong relationships with staff, students and parents. I am sure David will excel in his new role and I offer him my congratulations."

The opening at Langdon will be filled by the appointment of Tammy Rahn who has worked as a teacher and assistant principal in the jurisdiction since 1995.  She currently serves as Principal of Chestemere Lake Middle School.

Rahn's position at Chestemere Lake Middle School is to be filled by the appointment of Scott Woodward.  Woodward is the current Principal at Kathyrn School.

The appointments all take effect in August.
