This year's annual Roll to the Hole, taking place on Monday, June 27, is set to raise some money for Community Links.

Taking place at the Plainsmen Arena, a cement mixer filled with numbered golf balls will pour the golf balls out towards the holes.

Those with the numbers closest to the holes will win a prize.

Bernie Moen, manager of Counseling Services with Community Links, said he came up with the idea while sitting in his hammock.

"We were close to losing a staff member and we needed to find a way to raise some money, so I came up with this idea that maybe if we dumped some golf balls into a big Burnco truck, spun them around and shot them out of the other end, maybe we'd have a chance to turn that into a bit of a fundraiser."

The first ball closest to a hole will win a prize of $2500 cash, the second ball will win $1000 cash and the third ball will win $500.

"It helps with all our programs and services that we have here at Community Links. Every dime that we make off this, all the $10,000 will go right back into programs and services; wherever it's needed," said Moen.

Moen adds that when they first approached Burnco with the idea, the company thought they were joking but as soon as they found out they were being serious, Burnco jumped on board.

Tickets for this year's event are already sold out, but everyone is welcome to come check out the fun.
