You know that Airdrie and Cochrane are growing fast and now there's the stats to prove it.

The first results of the 2016 Canadian Census were released today (February 8th), and Alberta led all Provinces with an 11% growth since 2011.

Communities in Rocky View played a big role in that growth as Cochrane exceeded all Alberta towns with a 45.1% jump in population.

Airdrie wasn't too far behind, as the city grew by 42.6% since the last census in 2011.

More details on the Census results are available from Stats Canada.
