The City of Airdrie is hopeful that two of their biggest road projects will be finished in the next few weeks.

City crews have been working hard to complete twinning on Yankee Valley Blvd and construction of 40th Avenue to Main Street.

Capital Projects Manager Adam Carroll gives an update on the work on Yankee Valley.

"The asphalt installation will be complete this coming Monday (October 23), curb and gutters and all the concrete work will be finished early Monday as well. The street light base installation is complete and the contractor will be coming in to set up street lights before the end of the week."

Carroll is hopeful that all this work will be done and the road ready to go by the end of the month.

When it comes to 40th Avenue, Carroll says the main bridge and overpass is finished and just a few details are left.

"The City's portion is complete. Where the developer is making the connection from main street to the CP overpass is also finalizing their asphalt works next week. The street light installation began earlier this week and we're expecting that to be a three week process."

Carroll anticipates the road should be open by the middle of November.
