If you've ever driven with a frosted windshield, you may not have known the consequences.

RCMP are reminding drivers that as winter approaches, you can receive a $155 ticket for failing to clear your windshield.

"We wanna make sure that everybody's visibility is good considering that the road conditions can get a little harsh out there." said Cst. Jennifer Weedmark, Airdrie RCMP.

Drivers can be charged under the Use of the Highway/Rules of the Road Regulations. This applies to all windshield obstructions, not just frost and snow.

The RCMP remind residents to start their cars early and to never drive without good visibility.
