Several RCMP vehicles and a Police Helicopter were called in yesterday (September 28) after a suspect from Calgary made his way to Airdrie.

Cst. Dan Martin of the RCMP says local authorities were called after a strange occurrence took place at a local grocery store.

"We got a report of a male running around Save on Foods in Kings Heights area in his underwear. Somebody reported that as being unusual, reported that he left in a certain vehicle."

Martin says they were able to match the vehicle to a certain incident in Calgary, once they got word on the suspect they followed him through different parts of the city.

"The vehicle was located down south Main near Wal Mart and attempts to stop it were unsuccessful. The vehicle was followed into Calgary where Calgary Police took over"

RCMP say that the man was linked to an earlier carjacking incident, but there's no word to where and when that incident occurred.
