Airdrie RCMP have launched an investigation after a Ravenswood resident reported the bumper on his vehicle was stolen.

Police believe the incident happened in the early morning hours of either May 8th or 9th.

RCMP Constable Curtis explains that the bumper from the Volkswagen GTI was eventually returned to it's owner.

"On the 12th, a few days later, they woke up and they found the bumper outside with a note attached to it, apologizing but not identifying themselves."

Although the vehicle part was returned, the owner of the Volkswagen is still being left with the financial responsibility of repairing the vehicle and the bumper.

Because the suspect didn't identify themselves, Airdrie RCMP are working with the Forensic Identification Services for any fingerprints or DNA that can trace them back to the suspect.
