For the majority of May we have had above normal temperatures and a lack of precipitation, this combination has led to an above average amount of wildfires early on in the season.

However, according to Dan Kulak, Meteorologist from Environment Canada rain is coming.

"We do  have rain in the forecast for the majority of the week and I'm sure many Albertans are welcoming it."

The majority of the precipitation expected will take place Tuesday evening in the amount of roughly ten millimetres.

The colder weather doesn't end at the end of the week as its expected to settle back down to average temperatures.

"really as far out as we can see in the two-week time frame we can expect average seasonal temperatures for the next two weeks."
