Americans are apparently not the only ones willing to protest Joe Biden and Kamala Harris being officially declared the incoming President and Vice-President of the United States.

RCMP in Red Deer were called on to break up around 30 individuals in the city yesterday who had gathered to demonstrate over the results of the U.S. Presidential election.

At around 12:00 pm the protesters gathered near Red Deer City Hall.  The RCMP Downtown Patrol Unit responded to the protest to monitor and conduct enforcement.

The gathering was found to be in contravention of current public health guidelines and the organizer of the group was charged under the Public Health Act.  That individual is now scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court in April.

As a result of the arrest, most of the demonstrators departed the rally and the event was over by 3:00 pm.

Last night supporters of President Donal Trump overran the U.S. Capitol building as lawmakers were trying to make Biden and Harris' victory official.  Four people died in the violence.  Once police had cleared the protestors Biden's victory over Trump was confirmed.
