Over the last week gas prices have held steady at around 87 cents per litre.

Dan McTeague, Sr. Petroleum Analyst with Gas Buddy said not to get too comfortable with the current price due to recent agreements made with OPEC.

“With firm commitments this past weekend by both OPEC and non OPEC countries to meet or exceed oil production cuts, oil futures have been sent soaring with gasoline and diesel going along for the ride.”

McTeague said that this week's price increase will be even bigger than the jump two weeks ago.

For Airdrie, Calgary and surrounding areas drivers could see as much as a 14 cent increase by Friday.
