If you've been a fan of the warm weather in July and August, then you're in for some good news.

According to Environment Canada, those warm temperatures are expected to reach into the fall.

"It looks like those conditions are kind of expected all across the Southern Prairies and Southern B.C. as well," said Meteorologist Kirk Torneby, "Looks like to be the trend for the early part of Fall."

Torneby said the cause for the warmer than usual temperatures is a persistent ridge of high pressure, which allows the warm conditions to stay put.

While some are looking at the warmer Summer and Fall as a precursor for a brutal Winter, Torneby said it's too early to tell.

"There's reasonable confidence looking forward to September and a little bit into October. As we kind of stretch a little bit further down the road, it's a little bit murkier for sure."

Forecasted highs for the remainder of August are showing high temperature approaching or exceeding the 30 degree mark.
