A 29-year-old man is facing numerous charges following an incident north of Airdrie last Sunday (September 23rd). 

Police originally followed the man who was speeding along Dickson-Stevenson Trail at about 2:15 that afternoon.

Once they stopped him, Police found he was impaired and also in possession of firearms. Members of the RCMP and Municipal Enforcement worked together to eventually arrest the man following a scuffle.

The man from Airdrie faces charges of Impaired Driving, Impaired Operation over 80 mg%, resisting a peace officer and 2 counts of careless use of a firearm.

The man's name and court date are not being released by the RCMP.
