Airdrie police are investigating a hit and run that occurred this morning (May 24) in Aster Place.

At around 6:00am, a vehicle collided with a home in that area of Airdrie, causing significant damage to the external wall of the house and to a fence, as well as to the vehicle

"Some vehicle parts were left behind on scene, including a front grill and bumper and some broken glass," said Cst. Dan Martin.

Based on the parts, police have determined that the vehicle was a black Buick SUV.

While no one in the home was injured, the incident was not completely casualty free.

"There were some fish tanks in the house that did break, causing damage to the tanks and the fish didn't survive."

Just after 3:00pm, the RCMP reported that the suspect had turned themselves in, but the matter remains under investigation.
