Police are looking into a collision on Monday (May 22) afternoon during lunch time, where a pedestrian was struck by a black SUV as he was leaving the Pita Basket restaurant.

According to Cst. Dan Martin, the man wasn't injured, and saw the direction the SUV drove away.

"When police attended to the area, he indicated that he had found the vehicle, so he actually drove and looked for it."

Martin says Police did speak with both the pedestrian and the driver, as well as business owners in the area, and received conflicting versions of the events.

"At this time, it's still under investigation. There are differing stories between the driver of the suspect vehicle and the pedestrian as to what happened."

The RCMP are now hoping anyone that may have witnessed the incident will come forward and help clarify what actually happened.

"We have a 'he said, he said' story there, and we're just trying to find a third party, unbiased witness to the matter."
