Five Star Shellfish has recalled their large and mixed oysters due to the risk of Salmonella.

The oysters were harvested from P.E.I. on August 13, and were packaged in quantities of 100.

The recall was triggered after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) tested the seafood, which tested positive for the Salmonella bacteria.

There have been no current reports of illness at this time but it is recommended that you do not consume the product but return it or throw it away.

If you believe you may have become ill and have symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea, contact your doctor right away.
