Airdrie organ donor registration up.

According to Kevin Hamilton, Owner of Airdrie Registries the city has seen an increase of 30% in organ donor participation since Monday.

It's part of the heartbreaking Humboldt Broncos tragedy most people have heard about, the 21-year-old Broncos Defensemen Logan Boulet who's organs were donated to save the lives of others.  Since the tragedy and Boulet's inspiring story came to light there has been a 30% increase in organ donor sign up within Airdrie.

Hamilton says he hasn't seen an increase in donor donations like this before.

"Now it's not so many people coming in and saying they want to do the process but now when people are coming in to do their driver license renewals people are saying yes I want to be an organ donor now."

Organ donation is something most people seldom think about but with this increase in donor sign up, it is providing hope for others.

"Most people don't think about it, but what Boulet did make an impact and brought it to many peoples attention, it was a great thing for him to do",
