With one year under her belt, Airdrie MLA Angela Pitt is taking time to reflect.

Pitt says her first year came with its share of growing pains, but overall she has learned alot.

"The last year has been an incredible journey of learning, thats for sure, the wealth of information that I now hold inside my head is absolutely wonderful, and such a benefit to the people I am representing in the constituency of Airdrie." said Angela Pitt.

Following the turmoil that the Wildrose party had seen in recent years, Pitt took it upon herself to make a difference, for the sake of her two young children.

Pitt has taken on issues such as Airdrie's need for 24 hour health care, human trafficking, midwives, and the flow of traffic on Yankee Valley Blvd.

"One of the largest issues that I had going into this, and that I will alway continue to stand up for, is the broken foster care system, the children that are in care in this province are being failed in many many ways." said Pitt.

The Wildrose Official Opposition,  has 21 members, 18 of which were new to the job just one year ago as well.

Pitt encourages all her constituents to get involved, and bring forth any ideas, or concerns that they may have.

"My office is always open, the biggest thing that I would like Airdrie to know, is that I represent Airdrie." said Pitt. "If you have issues or conceerns or ideas, I would love to hear from them."

With the NDP's plans to introduce the carbon tax, Pitt has been busy fighting to oppose what she feels will be a devestating blow to the provinces economy.
