Multiple charges have been laid against a 30 year old man and an 18 year old woman following a wild car chase that started in Bragg Creek and ended at the Cross Iron Mall just outside Airdrie, and spanned six police jurisdictions.

The Cochrane RCMP received a report of a gas and dash in Bragg Creek at 11:15 p.m. on July 19 involving a stolen F-350 Ford truck. Just an hour later the Turner Valley RCMP received reports from a Priddis area farmer of the same vehicle whipping through his pasture chasing cattle

The vehicle then fled into the Tsuut'ina Nation where their police attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled into Calgary. The pair then stole a second F-350 from a dealership and they headed east with the Calgary Police in pursuit, aided by the HAWCS helicopter that continued to monitor the chase to the end.

The RCMP located the vehicle in Strathmore and an attempt to stop the pair failed. The man rammed a police vehicle stretched across the road, left the damaged truck and then jumped into the other one with his young companion and fled the scene.

The pair darted north in such a reckless manner that they lost a tire and continued to travel on just the rim. They made their way to the Cross Iron Mall, where RCMP and Calgary Police converged on the vehicle. The suspects fled on foot into the mall.. The foot chase was short-lived; the police captured them exiting the mall and took them into custody.

A series of charges have been laid against Kacy Savoie, 30, and Shaylene Mccauley, 18, both of Calgary, that include possession of stolen property, flight from police, assaulting a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to remain at a scene of a collision. The two have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court on July 24.
