Things will look a little different at Nose Creek Park starting tomorrow (February 21).

To allow the construction of a new amphitheatre in the park, crews will start draining the pond.

"It's basically to install the screw piles that are going into the pond to support the amphitheatre," explained Chris Reason, Corporate Properties Coordinator with the City of Airdrie.

Construction of the amphitheatre will begin in March, and Reason said the pond won't be refilled until after the project is finished sometime in the summer. Besides the pond, Reason said there will be some other closures in the park as well.

"We will be closing off the paths adjacent to the construction zone, so just keep an eye out for the next plan that they're going to be releasing here from the City."
