No charges will be laid in a collision yesterday, June 27 on Centre Ave and 1 St E.

Just before 1 p.m. Cochrane RCMP members were dispatched to an accident between two vehicles, ending with one colliding with a tree.

RCMP Sergeant Darleen White says the accident was due to one of the drivers being in medical distress.

"A male in his mid 20's suffered a seizure or medical emergency," she explains. "At which time he lost control of his vehicle, struck another vehicle, which veered him into a tree by the Canada post office."

No injuries were reported in the collision, one of the drivers was taken to the doctor to treat his medical emergency.

White explains the driver was not restricted from driving, as there was no history of seizures.

"Unfortunately, you generally cant anticipate that, or you have any idea its coming. If you do have any inkling, if you're able to, pull over immediately and try to get out of traffic."

If a vehicle operator has a seizure behind the wheel, generally they cannot get back on the road until they are 6 months seizure free, depending on medical history and medications.
