Alberta Transportation is advising that motorists driving on the QEII Highway in Airdrie during the overnight hours will face some delays for the next seven days.

Resurfacing work will be taking place on the QEII between Yankee Valley Boulevard and Highway 567.  As work progresses, one lane will be closed to traffic in one direction at a time.

The closures will affect northbound and southbound travel at different times.  All of the work will take place overnight between 7 pm and 6 am starting tonight (June 10) for up to seven days.

There will also be periodic closures of access to the interchanges of Highway 567 and Yankee Valley Boulevard.  The closures will alternate, leaving a northbound and southbound access point at one of the two interchanges.

Electronic signs will advise travellers of detour routes through Airdrie.  Alberta Transportation will monitor traffic volumes and make adjustments as necessary to ensure there is minimal disruption.
