A single vehicle motor vehicle collision on westbound Highway 1 on Saturday, August 20th, serves as a reminder on the dangers of summer driving.

The first arriving paramedic unit determined a west bound pick-up truck had left the highway and collided with a section of the underpass.

One male in his mid-60s was declared deceased on the scene.

This comes just one day after a serious collision near Lake Louise, which involved a motorcycle and a car.

Traffic was redirected and a BC male in his 40s was air lifted to hospital with serious injuries.

As summer winds down, and Albertans try to get in some last minute activities, drivers are encouraged to slow down and arrive alive.
