If you enjoyed the warm temperatures for the long weekend, you'll like what the rest of the week has in store.

Environment Canada is calling for a heat wave to hit Southern Alberta this week, as temperatures reach the mid to high 20's in Airdrie.

Other places in the province will feel even hotter, so much so that heat warnings have been issued for the following areas:

Brooks-Strathmore-Vulcan
Cypress Hills Provincial Park
Drumheller-Three Hills
Hanna-Coronation-Oyen
Medicine Hat-Bow Island-Suffield

Temperatures in those areas could reach as high as 38 degrees in the next few days.

Alberta Health Services reminds you to take caution during hot weather. Keep hydrated, apply sunscreen and consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler parts of the day to avoid heat stroke.

You can find more of those tips on the AHS website.
