Uniting the Right has been a hot topic of conversation in political circles, and Airdrie's MLA wanted to hear what Airdrie had to say.

Angela Pitt recently held two town hall events on February 15 and February 20 to consult those in her riding on uniting the Wildrose and PC parties and said the events went well.

"They were great. Both town halls were a mix of the two parties here in Alberta, and there was a lot of agreement in the rooms with the unity plan."

Pitt stressed that while the feedback was positive, the unity plans are still in the consultation phase. Even so, she believes the parties will need to move fast in order to have everything sorted out before the fall session.

"We don't want to have any of this stuff going on when we're in session because we still need to hold the NDP to account, so that's extremely important. The timeline is extremely important in this whole thing but it's all going to happen very, very quickly."
