Airdrie RCMP has released statistics on stolen vehicles in May 2018.

According to the report, vehicle thefts in Airdrie have dramatically dropped from the previous month.

The Airdrie RCMP only received nine reports of stolen vehicles in may compare to 32 reported thefts in April.

Of the nine vehicles stolen only one had its keys left inside the vehicle.

All nine Vehicles were stolen on weekdays with four of the vehicles being stolen from the same parking lot.

Cst. Dan Martin says the Airdrie RCMP are happy with the massive decrease in thefts.

"We are very pleased with the citizens and seeing these numbers go down.  We are all community members so if you see something suspicious report it and it can be dealt with in a quick manner."
