Yesterday (September 14th), members of the community were presented with a Transformational Roadmap to approaching mental health in the Airdrie

The presentation was a joint collaboration between the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Thumbs Up Foundation of Airdrie.

Kim Titus, co-founder of the Thumbs Up Foundation,  said they've been working with the CMHA for quite some time and even brought the idea of a pilot project to members of the Provincial Government with the help of Mayor Peter Brown and MLA Angela Pitt.

Titus said creating a transformational roadmap for Mental Health is a community objective and not just the workings of a select few.

Dave Grauwiler with the Canadian Mental Health Association spoke at the event and said they've had a great relationship with the Thumbs Up Foundation, whose story is being shared with families across the Alberta.

Both parties agreed that the issues of mental health and suicide prevention are prevalent in Airdrie and that no one should hide their struggles and that a way to reach out should be easier.
