Students from A.E. Bowers Elementary School put their best work on display yesterday (December 12th) as part of an Indigenous Cultural Fair.

Veronica Doyle, the Indigenous People's Coordinator at the school said it's all part of the Ripples of Change program.

"It's going through Indigenous cultures and learning about Indigenous people. They're at their first pit stop of the awareness piece of this Ripples of Change project."

Students presented a variety of projects showcasing the different Indigenous groups of Alberta from Siksika to Metis and the Dene people.

Doyle helped prepare the students for the fair by visiting places like the Glenbow Museum and even speaking with a professor at the University of Alberta who is Cree.

She hopes that more fairs like this one can be done in the future.

"This is the first year of Ripples of Change but I think it's something that is needed in Canada so I'm super excited to be doing this project at the school and hopefully it grows into something better in the following years."
