A local girl will be representing at an international pageant in 2020.

8-year-old Stephanie Jennings has been confirmed as Little Miss Canada Globe 2019/2020 and will be representing Canada at an international pageant in 2020.

During her reign as Little Miss Canada Globe Stephanie will be making appearances throughout the community, which will include providing assistance to charities, non-profit organizations and raise awareness. One of those charities she would like to help with is the Canadian Cancer Society.

"All those people that are fighting cancer could use support and help"

Stephanies mom Carla, says in August, Stephanie will have a lot of work to do.

"In August she will be crowned on stage in Toronto and it's a week-long nationals week and a bunch of different training such as runway training, confidence training and goes through a whole week of preliminary and then she will be making three appearances a month."

Stephanie says her favourite part of pageants is the excitement.

"The pagents really help build confidence and I get to meet a lot of other girls and it helps with public speaking and performing in front of people.

Outside of pagents, Stephanie is a competitive gymnast and loves to sing and act.

"I really want to do a good job so I can show other girls what its like to be confident in yourself no matter who you are or what you look like."

Stephanie is reaching out to the community looking for sponsorship to cover the costs such as the entrance fee, dresses, shoes and airfare. There will be a tax donation receipt sent out after the event in late fall 2019.
