The latest COVID-19 update provided more good news as cases continue to decline.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw reported 165 new cases Sunday, with 3,180 active cases right now across Alberta.

In Airdrie, active numbers are at 46 while 19 cases are in Rocky View County.

Dr. Hinshaw said the positivity rate registered at 2.8 per cent following 5,800 tests completed.

Hinshaw also reported 272 people in hospital with 75 in intensive care. Nearly 3.4 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given so far with just over 767,000 people fully immunized.

On Sunday, Premier Jason Kenney announced the province will be holding a lottery to encourage more people to get the vaccine.

He's expected to release more details about the lottery Monday at 12:30 p.m.
