They say that all good things come to those who wait.

In the case of warm weather, that must be true since we spent most of February waiting for warmth and now that it's March, we still are.  We'll need to wait for some time yet for a reprieve from the bitter cold because once again, an extreme cold warning has been issued for Airdrie.

No wait, make that ALL OF ALBERTA!

Yes, this afternoon Environment Canada issued the warning for the entire province.   Tonight (March 1) the temperature is expected to reach minus 33 before factoring in the wind chill.  A north wind at 20 kmh will make it feel like minus 40, the criteria for extreme cold.

Tomorrow will be sunny, but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security.  The forecast calls for a daytime high of minus 19 with morning wind chills again of minus 40.

Tomorrow night's low will be a bone-numbing minus 35 with wind chills again reaching minus 41.

Highs are set to start to moderate on Sunday when it's supposed to reach minus 12.   Monday looks even better with a high forecast at minus 6.  Don't break out the Bermuda shorts just yet though.  The overnight low on Sunday will be minus 27 with minus 23 expected on Monday night.
