The dance team at CW Perry took to the stage on Thursday June 2, to raise money for their dream of going to Los Angeles.

The team will have an opportunity to learn from professional dancers in L.A that worked with their coach and teacher Roel Suasin, when he was a dancer for Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado, the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Jessica Simpson, and Prince.

Suasin loves being able to take his experience as a dancer and share it with his students.

"It's what teachers do, we take our life experiences and we give back to the kids to give them the hopes and dreams to know that anything is possible."

Suasin and fellow grade 6 teacher, Krissa Donahue are each coaching the kids in different styles of dance, including hip hop, ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical.

Thursday's event was a large fundraiser that also included a summer celebration with food trucks and activities for the kids.

The team's fundraising efforts have raised over $6000, with more fundraisers beginning again in the fall.
